Mystery Skype Session - (24 July 2015)

A group of 16 students along with their teacher co-coordinators Ms. Archana Tyagi and Ms. Monika Uppal had a ‘Mystery Skype Session’ on 24 July 2015 with the students of Brazil.

Mystery Skype provides an engaging and interesting way for classrooms to introduce themselves to each other. Students used their map skills and communication skills to guess the mystery location of the other classroom. Thus providing a two way communication to built on each other’s cultural awareness, critical thinking and geographical know-how.

INDIA - DENMARK EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Extending our hands of friendship………….
(26 to 30 September 2014)


Visit of Global Coordinators of Fredericia Gymnasium School Denmark, Mr. Peter Knudsen and Ms. Catharine Linke to SMS Jank Puri under the Student Exchange Programme from 9 to 12 September 2013.

The integration of international dimensions in the curriculum encourages global perspectives and promotes responsible and sustainable citizenship. The global co-ordinators of Fredericia Gymnasium school Denmark Mr. Peter Knudsen and Catharine Linke visited Saint Mark’s School, Janak Puri from 9th - 12th September 2013.

The objective of the programme was to develop co–curricular projects where the students can work in mixed teams to strengthen the inter-cultural ties between the two nations. It will allow students to communicate using social media networks and pave path for a student exchange programme for Danish and Indian students. Further more it will enhance the oral and literacy skills through the use of English as the language of communication. The delegates from Denmark got a taste of Indian culture and life style.

They enjoyed the Indian hospitality and visited Gandhi Smriti, Red Fort etc. and tasted Indian delicacies. Archana Tyagi our ‘Global Project Coordinator’ acted as a link between two schools.

REACHING OUT TO THE WORLD …………… (1 to 8 April 2014)


The exchange programme was initiated under the aegis of school Principal Ms. Rama Sethi and the students were escorted by their Global Projects Coordinator Ms. Archana Tyagi accompanied by Ms. Monika Uppal from 1st to 8th of April 2014.

To make this visit a great collaborative teamwork between the two nations the Indian delegation presented the memento to the Principal Mr. Paul Erick Madsen and to the Vice Principal Mr. Martin Ingemann to symbolize the beginning of a new friendship between the management of SMS family and Fredericia Gymnasium.

Our students were paired with Danish partners and stayed with them for deeper understanding of their cultures. In order to familiarize their Danish partners to the Indian culture and customs Markians gave presentations on various aspects of Indian culture, History and Geographical features, and showcased a fusion of dances of various states of India. The students of both the nations also participated in the singing of their National Anthems & also in the team building activities like Cricket and Football matches. Students were exposed to the various sightseeing trips such as the field trip to Ecological and pig farms in Western Denmark and also undertook the tour to Fredrecia town. In Copenhagen they got a visual treat of ‘Little Mermaid’ and ‘Queen’s Castel’.

They also had a fun filled day at Adventure park and Arhus City. This great stay came to an end with the grand farewell dinner hosted by the Danish counterparts with the promise to visit our school in October 2014 to experience the Indian educational & cultural aspects.
































Extending our hands of friendship………….(26 to 29 September 2014)




The second  level of Exchange took place from 26 to 29 September 2014 where 27 students and three teachers from Fredericia Gymnasium School,Denmark enjoyed the hospitality of SMS family. The Danish students were hosted by our school students and their families, thus gaining insight of Indian family system and observed it at close quarters. 

An official welcome was given to the Danish students by the management of the school. In this regard a musical and cultural extravanganza showcasing Rajasthani folk music & dance and Janamastami celebrations were enjoyed by them. They reciprocated by presenting the National Anthem of their country and also presented a detailed power point presentation on Denmark. 

By enrolling in various workshops such as Music, Dance (hindi folk), Art which were provided by the host school Danish students enhanced their knowledge about Indian culture. They also stimulated their cerebral growth by attending classes on different subjects. A friendly cricket match between Indian & Danish students was played. St. Markians (Indian team) won the match. 

To understood the culture and history of Delhi they visited various places of Historical sites of National importance. 

“WE MEET TO PART, AND WE PART TO MEET AGAIN” On the day of Adieu, a farewell dinner was organized by the school management where the Danish students presented a delightful rendition of “Hum Honge Kamyab” & a ‘Giddha’ from Punjab was performed by both Danish & Indian students. 

Our school Manager Mr. Rahul Aggarwal presented the students with certificate and encouraged them to further strengthen the deep bond of friendship between the two countries.
